TRIALOG: Development Education Partnership Fair a success

In preparation of the expected EC funds of 10m EUR for Development Education (DE) activities in the new EU member states (NMS) and Romania, Bulgaria, TRIALOG in cooperation with CONCORD organised the DE Partnership Fair in Vienna from October 9-11, 2006. Nearly 200 NGOs from all parts of the EU came together to exchange experiences, to find partners for their project ideas and to elaborate concrete project proposals.

Around 35 project ideas were discussed and further developed during the event. The project ideas covered various fields such as: development cooperation in school curricula, informal development education targeting youth, sustainable tourism, fair trade, HIV/Aids, volunteering, migration and development etc.

By using the open space methodology, enough time for work in working groups and networking was secured. In addition, the programme comprised a podium discussion between representatives from the European Commission, the Belgium government and the Austrian Development Agency and expert presentations on specific topics, e.g. on fundraising and on how to write a successful project application.
