50,000 protesters to march across Brussels in support of social rights |

EUOBSERVER / BRUSSELS – Trade unions leaders in Brussels are expecting more than 50,000 sympathisers from all around Europe to turn up for a demonstration on Saturday in support of their social rights.
The protests will come just days before the European leaders gather for a spring summit to deal with major economic issues, like the re-launch of the EU’s economic agenda, the future EU spending and a reform of the rules underpinning the euro.
Better jobs, protection of social rights and scrapping the Bolkenstein directive – the proposed legislation on liberalising the EU’s services markets – are set to be the key messages on banners during the demonstrations. ... Full Article on EUObserver
