Pictures from the 5th World Social Forum

The 5th World Social Forum is held in Porto Alegre, Brazil, where more than 100 000 activists from social movements, NGOs and trade unions are expected to meet between January 26 and 31st 2005.

The forum’s first day had more than 570 activities in the form of conferences, panels, witnesses and dialogues tables. To name just a few topics mentioned today: education, agrarian reform, sexual diversity, racial equality, democracy and globalization, natural resources and indian rights.
